Recreation Commission Sets Pool Fees and Staff
The city recreation panel approved swimming pool rates and hired summer staff. Shafter Officer Resigns to Accept Deputy Sheriff Post
Officer Brian White resigns from Shafter Police to join Kern County Sheriff's Office as deputy in eastern Kern County. Resignation effective June 15 with final meeting June 18. White, 31, has served three and a half years in Shafter, attended local schools, sister Mrs. Virginia Hegart based in Bakersfield, studied at E. Field Junior College and University of Arkansas. Three names will enter eligibility list after the transfer.

New Pastor Accepts Call at First Baptist Church
Reverend Dale B. Klint has accepted the pastorate of First Baptist Church and will reside at the parsonage 205 Faber Street Imacron Chae Wo Wehbe. He studied at Wheaton College and Theological School in Chicago and was ordained at Lorimer Memorial Baptist Church in Chicago in 1948. He served as assistant pastor there for about a year and a half before moving to the new assignment following Reverend McKrug's resignation after ten years.

CHP Reports Nine Injured in Accidents This Week
California Highway Patrol officers investigated three auto accidents during the past week with several persons receiving moderate to severe injuries. The first mishap involved Elicio Salazar, 52, of the Wasco labor camp who was southbound on CVH when he was forced to slow.
