Salary Increase Recommended for Kern Junior College District
A 6.06 percent salary rise for 1964-65 was recommended by the Lone College Dene Senaghe District Salary Fact Finding Committee. Board members heard committee chair William A. Nielsen present the report, with Superintendent Theron L. McCuen endorsing the plan to align salaries with leading California junior colleges. The board took the matter under advisement.

Kern County unions approve 26 probationary teachers to cut vacancy gap
Kern County Union High School and Junior College District trustees hired 26 probationary teachers to reduce the 23 remaining vacancies. 145 vacancies were listed with 122 filled under contract and 144 refusals recorded. The board also accepted seven resignations, rescinded four prior hires, and approved a ten day holiday schedule for classified staff for 1964 65.

Eastern Star Memorial Service Held by Wasco Chapter
Wasco Chapter 498 of the Order of Eastern Star held Memorial services Monday evening May 25. Dottie Boyd and Jack Hammons led the draping of the altar for Elwood B. Stringham and Inez Jones.
