Brown and Bryant of Shafter Fined in Chemical Mislabeling Case
Brown and Bryant of Shafter were fined twenty five thousand dollars after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of mislabeling a chemical container. Lawrence Wheeler, plant manager for the company, entered the plea on behalf of Brown and Bryant. Three felony and six misdemeanor counts of mishandling toxic chemicals were dismissed in exchange for the guilty plea. Wheeler received one year of probation, and the company was ordered to maintain the premises according to the law.
