A large number of Mexican nationals brought to California for the guayule project have been relocated from Wasco quarters to new housing. They are praised as diligent workers and valued customers of area businesses. Guayule seed harvest has begun at Circle Ranch near Wasco and will be shipped to nurseries in Lamont, Oceanside, and Salinas. John R. Hodson says local growth exceeds expectations by 75 percent.

Survived by wife Mary six sons George Henry Abe and others three daughters three sisters eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Two grandsons serving in military could not attend.

Two Youths Die In Freight Car Tragedy At Fresno
Jor Hill aged 17 son of Mr and Mrs Hill died in a freight car accident in the Southern Pacific yards Fresno while Lee Cahoun 18 and Jack Sullivan 18 also of Shafter were involved. Cahoun's body was sent to Missouri for burial and Sullivan escaped serious injury after being pinned briefly. The trio had come home from a trip to San Jose when the accident occurred.

Antelope Hunting Permits Drawn In California
More than 3,000 applications for antelope hunting permits have been received by the Division of Fish and Game. Only 500 will be issued after a legal lottery to be held in Sacramento August 13, with a final filing deadline of August 11. War Food Admin Drops Marketing Quotas for Cotton
The War Food Administration with the Agricultural Adjustment Agency says no marketing quotas will be in effect for the 1943 cotton crop or for the 1944 crop. By July 1 farmers were cultivating about eight million acres less cotton than the 1943 permitted acreage and about a million and a half fewer acres than on July 4, 1942.
