1936 Payroll Totals Not Required By Work Commission
California employers will not be required to furnish their 1936 payroll totals to the state Reserves Commission if they have not kept the figures. The ruling does not affect quarterly earnings reports for 1936. these must be filed on Form DE for the first quarter of 1937. The decision came after input from the California Retailers Association and the Western Chapter of the American Comptrollers Institute. The commission noted many firms do not keep annual earnings records and said Form DE 852A may be unnecessary unless records exist, though it remains desirable for the agency to obtain such reports. Form DE 852A covers earnings for the first six months of 1937.
