Six 15 year old teams compete July 22 29 for State Play-offs. 13 year olds contest July 30 August 7 for state finals. Jerry W. Schaub, born in Delano on March 13, 1937, is a Shafter Fire Department engineer with four years of service. He attended Earlimart grade school and Delano High School, moved to Shafter in 1963, served as a volunteer before becoming a paid firefighter, and trained in fire science at Bakersfield College. He also helps train volunteer firefighters with other station duties. his wife Mary Lou and children Kim and Rhonda live at 326 Shaw.
