Juveniles cause 20 acre grass fire near Shafter
Kern County investigators say juveniles playing with fireworks sparked a July 6 grass fire off Riverside Street west of Santa Fe Way in Shafter. Crews from Shafter and Wasco battled wind-driven flames covering about 20 acres for about an hour with no injuries or structural loss. The fire department continues its investigation with 20 personnel on scene.
