Robert C. Diltz Memorial Complex Dedicated At MFAD Facility
The Robert C. Diltz Memorial Complex in Shafter was unveiled by Roy Patrick, honoring the late MFAD director. The site houses the CDFA Pink Bollworm Sterile Moth Facility in the San Joaquin Valley, one of two linked centers with Phoenix to release sterile moths and reduce pesticide use. Diltz, a WWII veteran and long-time Shafter resident, died January 26 and was praised for service on water districts and district boards. A missing man flyover and a community open house followed the ceremony.
