Pastor Dick Delegates to World Conference in Amsterdam
Pastor Henry Dick and wife depart Kern Airport with a 27 member Menno Travel Service tour bound for Europe July 12 to August 2. Dick will serve as Pacific District Con ference delegate to the eighth Mennonite World Conference in Amsterdam July 23 to 30. Dr. Erland Waltner of Elkhart presides over the conference and Mennonite Seminary. Textbooks Adopted For Kern High School District
The Kern County Union High School District adopted 23 new basic textbooks for 1967 68 across business education English foreign language health homemaking industrial arts mathematics music science and social studies. June ADA across 11 high schools rose to 17004 from last year by 588 with Bakersfield High at 35176 and Kern Valley High at 242. The board approved buying two old Bakersfield High structures for 50 removal within 90 days and approved employing 17 physicians for the health programs. The district plans annexation to North of the River Sanitation District. no extra charges expected. Capital outlay includes 12000 for larger Richland area water mains and 10000 for sewer plant garbage disposal to prevent clogging. A pump replacement of 800 at the sewer plant was noted. Dr. Henry Voth reported a city district health and hospital insurance meeting with 32 cases, three unsatisfied due to faulty billing later correctable, and recommended better coordination among employees, the insurer, and the agent.

Richland School Board Moves to Balance Budget
After surveying its finances the Richland School Board will drop a 7th grade and an 8th grade teacher to live within income for the year. Lunch prices for intermediate and upper grades rise to 40 cents while primary cafeteria prices stay unchanged. A July 17 meeting will approve the publication budget and a July 18 hearing on a mobile home area in Richland Park will be held before the City Planning Commission.

Rev Spencer Named New Vicar for St Mark’s Church in Shafter
Rev Bruce Spencer age 49 will arrive after September 1 to become vicar at St Mark's Episcopal in Shafter. He currently serves as rector of St James the Apostle in Coquilla Oregon after ordination in 1955.
