Wiebe continues care after farm accident and finger loss
Robert Wiebe remains under specialist care following a June 28 farm accident that cost the index finger of his right hand. He may be released in about six weeks or more. He was freeing his finger from a plow when he could not reach the power lever. Two nearby women heard his cries and helped, with Mrs. Willis Reimer taking him to a Shafter physician who referred him to a Bakersfield specialist. Reverend Melvin Krug transported him to Bakersfield and notified Mrs. Wiebe. He can do some work but progress is slow.
