Leonard Thomson, candidate for Assembly, denounces the Supreme Court plan to base State Senate seats on population. He argues it would erode rural representation like Kern County’s, favors Los Angeles, and undermines the balance of power between the two houses. He cites the current 40 senators and 80 assembly seats as evidence of fair representation by area in the Senate and population in the Assembly. He calls for defending constitutional fair play and local representation.
