Kirk couple tours Hong Kong with Rotary convention ties
Local residents Joe and Gretchen Kirk returned from a 10 day Rotary International Convention trip to Hong Kong and the Orient. The Bakersfield pair joined five other Rotarians from Kern County, stayed at Hotel Lotte, and were guided by translators who helped them explore Gyeongbok Palace and the Korean Falk Village while witnessing regional political tensions. They formed host family friendships, enjoyed local and American fare, and compiled photo books documenting their experiences.
