Enrollment Drops at Richland School Board Sees 1830
Richland school enrollment stood at 1830 last week, down 29 from last year’s peak. Superintendent Bruce Crawford told the Board of Trustees Thursday that numbers are expected to rise, with a May peak anticipated. The board reviewed a Bakersfield Roberts Insurance Agency letter about early renewal fire insurance savings, but took no action. Principals John Peterson and Thomas Flanagan demonstrated overhead projectors to the board. Under the National Defense Education Act, the federal government may help purchase such machines, a matter the board will decide later. The board also attended a mathematics seminar in progress at the school. The next meeting is Monday February 10 at 7 p.m. at Richland School, announced board president Clarence Neuman.
