Two property owners contained blazes themselves late Tuesday preventing losses. At 6:11 p.m. a gas ignition in W. E. Nicol’s living room on Fresno and Magnolia triggered a county response, but the owner had it under control. About 6:40 p.m. at 135 Tulare Ave, a smoking gas heater prompted a combined city and county response, but J. E. Klassen kept the situation controlled. No major damage reported.
