Lady Generals edged in overtime by Lady Eagles

Shafter High School faced Bakersfield Christian High School in an overtime 65 60 defeat after trailing by 13 in the third. Nunn scored 18 for BCHS as Angulo Macias and Segura helped SHS rally with early baskets and late runs before BCHS pulled away.

Local Hoop Shooters Shine At Madera Contest

District Hoop Shoot winners Carson Watson from Maple School and Cynthia Ugalde of Lost Hills earned places at state level. Carson, age eight to nine, took first in boys, with Jt and Jadene Watson of Shafter cited as his parents. State event in Carmichael on January 24 leads to Las Vegas regional. Gene Diseth praised Cynthia’s positive attitude despite not winning.
