Grand Opening of Shafter Career Services Center
The One Stop center at 113 Central Valley Highway in Shafter united 16 agencies for a grand opening on January 5 2000. Agencies include Department of Human Services Employment Development Department Proteus Mental Health and more. The center serves Shafter Wasco Buttonwillow Lost Hills and helps welfare to work with free services for unemployment food stamps public assistance and job opportunities. Community partners say the center strengthens regional cooperation and will expand local hiring with new business commitments.
