Scouting official faces questions over March of Dimes funds
In Shafter last year Russell Hamman and a Boy Scout troop placed canisters for the March of Dimes drive and collected over $100. When Hamman attempted to turn in the money both locally and to Bakersfield district offices, no one accepted it. The funds were deposited in a bank account under the March of Dimes name for a year before Hamman was relieved of duty and presented a check to Delores Meyers, the current March of Dimes chair at Shafter Junior Women's Club.
