The City of Shafter annexes Edwards Tract, a defined enclosed territory, following Resolution No. 255 and a December 9 1963 hearing. The ordinance states the annexation is complete upon filing with the Secretary of State and would take effect thirty days after. The description begins at the southeast corner of Lot 8 in Section 15, Township 28 South, Range 25 East, and traces the boundary lines to include the parcel within Shafter Avenue’s limits.
City Council of Shafter passes Ordinance No. 156 with councilmen Gariatz and Gaede voting yes and noes none Absent Zenk and hors. Mayor signs the final adoption as attested by City Clerk W H Johnston on December 23 1963 and January 1.
