Shafter Collaborative Meeting Discusses Dental Care Outreach
On February 20 2002 the Shafter Collaborative met at Richland Intermediate Cafeteria with Kern County Health Department staff presenting dental health programs to Spanish and English speaking parents. A video puppet tooth brushing demo entertained children while adults completed a pre and post test. Dental kits funded by Prop 10 were distributed to children as cookies and a raffle concluded the event. The next meeting on March 20 will feature Ann Purcell of Kern Senior Collaborative to aid seniors and beyond.
