Refrigerator Car Fire Sunday on Siding
A fire on a refrigerator car on a siding south of the section house caused slight damage Sunday morning. Only floor and wall sections near one end were harmed. Firemen answered at 8 30. A transient is suspected to be the accidental starter. Firemen's fund gained fifty cents from the incident. Two quarters were found in discarded trousers near the scene.
Shafter Man Injured in Traffic Mishap
Victor Carpenter a 42 year old pedestrian from Shafter suffered a compound fracture of the arm after being struck by a motorist while walking beside a road near town. He was transported to Kern General Hospital for treatment.

Car Damaged Slightly by Blaze Sunday
Fire units responded to a Sunday night car blaze two blocks south of the tracks on Lerilo road. Bill Galkin's roadster was damaged but quickly extinguished by Galkin throwing dirt on the flames.

Three Injured In NCAR Road Crash Near Jamies Street
At 6 30 a m on Lerdo road east of Jamies street a car carrying F M Hamilton 38 his wife Verna and Spray Havens collided with a tractor left by Warkentine who had been forced to stop for gas. Hamilton suffered a fractured rib and lacerations Verna a fractured elbow and hand injuries Havens head lacerations. An ambulance conveyed them to Kern General hospital in Bakersfield.
