Shafter mural committee selects Colleen Chronister for city art
The mural panel chose Colleen Chronister of Lemoore to paint a 1950s themed mural for Floyd's store on Central Avenue. The design features a Shafter Depot scene with a Santa Fe train, a vintage truck, and a 50s Chevrolet, with an eight week timeline and 10000 budget. A second project proposes fountain wall tiles by Jill Thayer depicting St Therese’s Church, a Santa Fe train, an almond orchard and two agriculture fields.
