Project F.L.A.R.E. reading program grows attendance
The F.L.A.R.E. program reports rising attendance at quarterly meetings in Redwood Golden Oak and Sequoia. Parents engage beyond simply reading, aided by volunteers who provide reading tips and activities. Each family receives a library book and a goodie bag with a book pencil bookmark ideas sheet coupons. Disneyland tickets are offered as fourth quarter prizes donated by the Shafter Lions Club. Volunteers from Richland School District Shafter High Key Club Richland Junior High Rotary Kiwanis and Target assist. Sponsors include Target Richland School District Apple Market McDonald s Fastrip Shafter Lions Becker Insurance Agency.
