Shafter Firehouse Receives Modern New Fire Engine
Shafter Station 32 welcomes a new engine built with synthetic hoses that dry quickly and can be reused sooner. On shift A Tuesday Captain Heidi Dinkler Engineer Bob Maldonado and Fire Fighter Tom Ellison oversaw the arrival. Within a week the chief plans to deliver further engines to Ridgecrest Taft Buttonwillow Riverview Bakersfield and Edison as part of the budget to replace aging equipment. The old engine remains as a reserve in Shafter.
