City to review Shafter fire protection service evaluation
City Administrator August Caires announced that Shafter will evaluate its fire protection contract with Kern County, now 18 months in, to gather resident input before presenting findings to the City Council on March 11. Comments are due by February 27 at 320 James St. and 746-6361.

Hawkins appointed community manager of both Shafter and Wasco branches after eight months as Wasco manager, also named area business banker.
