California expands easy tax form 540 2EZ option
The California Franchise Tax Board announces that about a third of taxpayers, with incomes up to 200000 and three or fewer dependents who do not itemize, can use the simpler 540 2EZ form. A pilot Ready Return lets the FTB prepare returns from W-2 data for eligible simple cases. Direct e filing speeds refunds, with seven days for e filings, and direct deposit is urged.

Campus Investigator Paul Petersen says the vehicle will police the school perimeter and help keep out outside influence.
