Reverend Mel Krug of First Baptist Church Shafter will resign as pastor to accept the pulpit of Magnolia Baptist Church in Riverside. He has served Shafter for ten years after coming from Fairview Heights Baptist Church Inglewood where he worked eighteen months. Krug, a Pepperdine College and California Baptist Theological Seminary graduate, cites his call and faith in God. He and his wife and two children Mikky and Debbie will terminate his ministry on January 31, 1962.
Reverend Edward Key announced a candlelight Holy Communion service at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Sunday evening December 24 starting at 11 p.m. The program will include Christmas hymns and a sermon. sermon text not disclosed.
