Richland Board rescinds CTIIP funds application
Richland School Board voted in closed session to rescind its CTIIP application after negotiating teams from the Richland Teachers Association and the district failed to reach agreement. CTIP would have provided 8500 to classroom teachers for innovative methods. Superintendent Vera Stone cited differences in proposals and a desire to avoid distracting the instructional program. Auditors praised the district’s records as fair and largely compliant, noting eight prior recommendations with two not fully implemented. The board extended the contract with adviser Schwilke for reconstruction efforts and approved policy revisions. Enrollment declined but remains higher than last year with expected spring uptick.
