Shafter Chamber Leads With Local Civic Initiatives
The Shafter Chamber of Commerce under President Phil Clarkin launched several community projects this year in cooperation with Wasco. The joint hospital survey and road improvements along Lerdo Road and Central Valley Highway position Shafter for future growth. Activities included Potato and Cotton Festival and George Harrison Day, plus Dollar Days merchandising efforts. The group also cleaned the Santa Fe Lerdo railroad corner and erected a service club sign. The year ending sees strong progress and momentum for Northern Kern County’s business center.
