Aggressive PM2.5 Plan Workshops Set in Valley
The Fresno based Valley Air District will hold public workshops on December 18 and 19 to gather input on the 2008 PM2.5 Plan. The draft seeks dramatic reductions in fine particulate matter, with hearings at the district office in Fresno and video conferences in Bakersfield and Modesto. The plan, drawn from the 2007 Ozone Plan, proposes nitrogen oxide cuts and rules affecting wood fires, boilers, furnaces and sulfur dioxide, with a January 9 comment deadline.
