Richland choirs perform at Kiwanis meeting in Shafter
Richland School Junior High choirs entertained the Shafter Kiwanis Club during a Wednesday lunch. The boys choir of 11 of 18 sang Rejoice and Sing and Its The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year while the girls choir of 42 sang Let It Snow and Little Saint Nick. They joined voices on It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer Marshmallow World and Christmas Time Is Here led by Kristin Gore. Kiwanis International Iodine Deficiency Disorder IDC campaign seeks 75 million to eliminate the disease by 2000 and Kern County division leads district with 92 051 raised. Shafter Kiwanis surpassed its IDC goal of 7 500 raising 7 878 and donating over 15 000 this year to youth, schools, scholarships and local projects. A food drive collected over 10 000 pounds for 65 area families. donations can be left at SHS front office Richland School Superintendents Office or call Ben Wilson at 746-4423.
