Richland AARP Jazz Band Delights Members at Thanksgiving Potluck
The Richland AARP chapter enjoyed a Thanksgiving potluck featuring the Richland Jazz Band directed by Ken Gross. Students were chosen for grades and band rules, performing Rock Around the Clock String of Pearls and It s a Wonderful World before Christmas songs. Janet Petersen led a brief meeting and the nominating slate was approved for installation December 19. A Feb 5 7 Stateline tour is planned at $53 per person with $25 donated to Santa. Special thanks were given to Roy and Lucy Ratzlaff for setup and cleanup.

Public Health announces extra flu clinics in Wasco and Lost Hills
Kern County Public Health will run additional flu clinics in Wasco on Tuesday December 13 from 1 to 4 PM at the County Building 810 8th Street and in Lost Hills on Thursday December 15 from 9 AM to noon at the Lost Hills Community Center 31338 Paso Robles Highway. Medicare and Medi Cal cannot be billed this year, so shots cost $2. Eligibility is first come, first served for high risk groups including seniors 60 and older, infants six months to 23 months, people 2 to 64 with chronic conditions, pregnant women, and caregivers or household contacts of young infants.
