Simonsen to retire as Kern District chancellor in 1978
Dr Edward Simonsen the long time Kern Community College District chancellor will retire June 30 1978 after 40 years of district service He built the district from 1968 onward and held leadership roles at Bakersfield College East Bakersfield High School and in state and national college circles He praised mentors colleagues and the community in a farewell letter to the KCCD Board of Trustees.

Bakersfield College expands its Dial-A-Tape information line for the spring semester. The service assists with registration counseling appointments placement tests and financial aid and adds six new topics plus ten courses of study. Dial-A-Tapes now number 33 and run weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
