Last Chance for Shafter Builders to Reach 1952 Record
Shafter builders must exceed $55,266 in new structures next month to push the 1952 total above the 1951 record of $846,925. Building Inspector E K Grant notes the community is $55,266 short with one month to go, and projections over the year suggest a $70,000 plus average could seal the record unless December weakness returns. J I Dandy and Co anchored November at $30,050, aiding an 11 month tally of $791,659, as Wienberger Tract subdivision work began on three $7,500 houses with other contributors and permit totals in electrical and plumbing reaching $1,570 and $3,525 respectively.
