The latest report on Lt Robert Senn Army Air Corps indicates he is making a splendid recovery after a parachute jump near Adeline Texas. Mrs Fred Senn mother of the injured flyer spoke with Lt Senns wife Donna Neufeld and described the progress as satisfactory. A boy sent a letter with a piece of Lt Senns parachute asking for a fragment of the wreckage she declined to keep any plane wreckage.

Adventist Youth Camp at Greenhorn near Shafter
One hundred Adventist youths from Shafter and Bakersfield spent August 21 27 at Kern County vacation camp Greenhorn after harvest work. Seventy five youths aged 10 to 16, with 25 counselors cooks and leaders, organized by Dr Howe with Keezer RN as nurse. Camp pastors and local ministers led devotional services, with hikes to Tobias Peak and the Big Trees and practical fire safety demonstrations.

House Burns at Camp Government Camp
A house at Government Camp occupied by W F McQuillams burned last Friday night August 25 while the couple were at a show. A passing motorist reported the fire at 11 08 p m. Fire investigators suspect an electric iron left plugged in caused the blaze. The interior and all furniture and personal effects were destroyed. Loss estimated at 3000 dollars. Firefighters from Shafee, Wasco, and Chief Elmo Freear of Bakersfield aided the response.
