Wasco Doan Cemetery Entrance to be Redefined with Caltrans
Kern County Public Cemetery District No 1 trustees agreed to negotiate with Caltrans in 1988 to modify the Wasco Doan entrance. The plan calls for closing the current gate, making Leonard Avenue the primary access, building a concrete wall, removing the old driveway, adding trees, and adding a 12 foot right turn lane along the frontage to ease funeral processions and visitors exiting onto Leonard Avenue. Trustees Ben Grundy Don Zachary and Brad Tomasini support widening traffic now with potential four lane or freeway status in the future.
