Massive Mosquito Collection At UC Davis Under NSF Grant
The Bohart Museum of Entomology at UC Davis preserves a vast mosquito collection under a three year NSF grant. Director Lynn Kimsey oversees, with Tom Zavortink leading identification and preservation of 44,642 specimens. The effort features six major collections, ongoing new donations, and collaboration with students to sort, mount, and classify diverse species including exotic Aedes and local U.S. species.
