A Nimmo survey shows over 80 percent of respondents in California's 29th Assembly District support Governor Reagan's tax limitation initiative, to appear as Proposition 1 on the November ballot. Respondents represent about 17 percent of district voters and also favor campaign reform and nuclear power expansion.
Four Shafter men were arrested in connection with a burglary at 510 Sunset where $1 200 worth of wedding gifts were taken from an unoccupied apartment before the couple's Sept 10 wedding. A car near the scene led to the arrest of owner Fred Lee McClure 21. Others named are Travis Sherrell 18 Paul Salias Rosas 22 and Harold Garland. Property including a stereo and TV was recovered and allegedly sold.
Richland School District anticipates 1850 students for opening day with 87 teachers and administrators. Seven new teachers join across Primary, Intermediate, and Upper Grade Schools along with one new Federal Programs resource teacher.
Mr and Mrs Keith Watson and daughter Tahwana completed a three week trip through Oklahoma Texas and New Mexico visiting relatives in Duncan Arlington Gallop Hobbs and Long Beach on the return. Mr and Mrs Eugene Hill also returned from a vacation in Lake Tahoe and northern California visiting their daughter and family.
