Shafter High Receives 20 Million for Renovations
Shafter High School expands under a 95 million bond approved by Kern County voters in 1990. The project, due to finish in 2008, converts the old cafeteria to a modern library, adds seven new classrooms and two more, builds a new science facility, upgrades electrical systems and technology, and adds sidewalks and landscaping. Local officials credit community support and the 1990 bond for the upgrade.
