Homemaker Camp At Whitaker's Forest Draws 60 Women
About 60 women from 15 counties attended a week long Homemaker Camp at Whitaker's Forest. Activities included crafts sketching swimming nature walks and flower arrangement demonstrations led by Mrs Robb Walt and other county advisers. Camp council plans for 1952 and ideas from attendees shaped next year’s program.

Mojave businessman W F Nick Reynolds named president of Kern County Chamber of Commerce succeeding Cecil T Jones who resigned. Reynolds has been first vice president this year and on the executive board for three years. Lowell W Ball elected vice president and new officers were chosen at the 44th annual election at Hotel El Tejon. Outgoing president Jones received a plaque for his civic work.
