Oscar Moss, senior maintenance man for Shafter Public Works, has served over a decade maintaining water and sewer systems with David Trout. He handles emergencies day and night, on alternating weekends, and crafts city metalwork in his garage when off duty. Moss has lived in Shafter 24 years and supports a family of four. his sister Opal Boles also resides there.
