Richland School with enrollment 1464 across three buildings runs a modern cafeteria serving about 1100 pupils daily. Prices are 8 to 10 cents for meals with dessert, depending on grade, and separate lunch hours ensure full feeding and playground time. Physical education is emphasized under Roy G. Farrell, while war material shortages hinder new classrooms though expansion plans continue.
A long sponsor list appears on the page highlighting numerous Shafter area businesses. Names span auto parts, hardware, groceries, hotels, farms, real estate, insurance, and services, indicating a broad community commerce support network.
