Collision claims three lives in Buttonwillow wreck
CHP investigators probed a Monday night crash on Highway 58 near Buttonwillow that killed three Buttonwillow residents and left a fourth passenger critically injured. A 1977 Cadillac De Ville driven by Mickey Milam, 24, failed to stop at Mayer Road and collided with a westbound 1979 Chevy pickup. Driver Alejandro Barajas, 19, and passenger Nellie Gonzales, 51, died at the scene. Rafael Barajas, 27, was airlifted for treatment and later died. The collision left the truck overturned, some passengers ejected, and the car reportedly burst into flames after crossing a field. None of the victims were wearing seatbelts, Odom said.
