Ballet Folklorico Thiotiani Shafter Dance Troupe Spotlight
Kiwanis of Shafter showcases Ballet Folklorico Thiotiani directed by Brandi Root Huestis. The Youth Performing Arts and Education Association, founded 1996 by Deanna Rodriguez Root, trains ages three to adult in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical. The group earned a city commendation and performs across Kern County while promoting healthy living and education. Upcoming events include an air show at Minter Field on April 21 and a Spiritual Walk-a-thon on April 28 at Shafter High Track.

The project aims to lure Southern California firms by providing immediate space as Kern County seeks more industrial capacity.
