Still Growing Without Forecasting The Future

The United States Chamber of Commerce notes multiple growth factors in the current economy. Steel production sits at 90 percent capacity up from 70 percent last year while electric power output nears ten million kilowatt hours weekly. Freight carloadings exceed last year and trade remains robust with exports and imports rising by about 100 million dollars monthly. First quarter auto sales are expected to rise by a third over 1954. Consumer spending remains at record levels and California farms contribute a smaller share of cash income, signaling broad economic expansion despite agricultural dominance shifting.
