UC Plans Study Of Dust Problem In Valley Area
The University of California and Standard Oil of California plan term leases on three tracts for field trials of drought resistant forage and range management. Lost Hills and Belridge sites will test plants and soil strategies as West Side dust storms stem from inadequate rainfall and fragile vegetation. The range land utilization committee coordinates scientists to advance the grass lands program amid dry-year cycles.
