School board races draw wide interest in Kern County
In Kern Union High School District 12 candidates vie for three seats next July 1. Richland and Buttonwillow districts each show four and six candidates with two incumbents seeking reelection. Rosedale and Fruitvale races feature six and five candidates. Elk Hills at Tupman has three. Voter turnout is expected high next Tuesday. The Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area opens after July with plans for extensive facilities and a mid May filling of the lakes.
