Kern County Grand Jury Backs Privatizing Some Services
The Kern County Grand Jury endorses privatization of select services to save money. It cites SB 84 as enabling county contracts with private firms for 14 special services, including training, security, accounting, and custodial work, with potential 10 to 40 percent savings. A Privatization Task Force is urged and a report due by January 1, 1995.
