Four junior chairs named for 38th FFA Field Day at Fresno
Lisha Lewis of Shafter is among four junior chairs named to assist in organizing the 38th annual FFA Field Day at California State University, Fresno on Saturday April 19. The event brings nearly 2,000 FFA members from more than 100 high schools, with senior co-chairs and about 20 contest chairs. The CSU Fresno School of Agriculture and Home Economics and Security Pacific National Bank sponsor the two day competition.

Marine promotes Conrad Molina after recruit training
Marine Pfc. Conrad R. Molina son of Conrad R. Molina of Shafter has been meritoriously promoted after graduating from the 11 week recruit training cycle at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. Molina earned the early promotion for superior performance across all training phases emphasizing conditioning discipline and teamwork. He is a 1984 Shafter High School graduate and joined the Marine Corps in July 1985.
