Seymour Ministerial Union announces a five month church loyalty drive starting December 2. Missionary Night opens the effort with a program on missions. Ministers will speak December 13 on What the Churches Mean to Seymour. Attendance goals and weekly totals will be announced to boost participation.
Hugh Cox of this city, employed by Reliance Manufacturing, was acquitted in city court after 45 minutes of jury deliberation on charges of failing to stop after an accident. The incident occurred November 13 at the foot of Topie hill on Brownstown road between Cox and Elliott who drove separate cars returning from a basketball game.

The Seymour Evangelical Lutheran congregation voted to keep Rev. Ernest N. Eggers as pastor, rejecting a Cleveland call. About 200 attended the Sunday meeting with pledges already totaling around 300000 and options to extend payments up to three years.

The Industrial Board hearing on John Crouch's damages claim against Kuntz Lumber Co. ran from 1:00 to 2:45 pm in city court. Indianapolis attorney Thomas A. Riley represented the board, George Burkhart for Crouch, and John Rynerson for Kuntz Lumber. Evidence was taken and will be reviewed at the board's Indianapolis headquarters. Crouch says he was injured while employed by Kuntz. The award, if any, would follow Workman’s Compensation rules, with 55 percent weekly wage up to a 24.00 maximum, or a minimum of 10.00, not exceeding 500 weeks total disability.
Richard Elliott father of Bob Elliott of near Wallonia suffered a lacerated forehead when his car rolled down Crane hill on the Brownstown road. He had stopped to fix a flat tire at the hilltop and as he worked the car gained momentum and carried him over the hill side. The injury was not serious.

Miss Alta Belle Wright aged 21 died last Thursday at Glennwood Sanitarium St. Louis after a two week illness. Funeral services are planned Wednesday at White Church with burial in Driftwood Cemetery. Survivors include her parents John F. and Mrs Wright and brother Robert W. Wright. She had lived in Driftwood and Dexter and was a teacher in her first term when ill. She belonged to the Christian church in Dexter and was known for her school work.
Mrs Elizabeth Hassenzahl died at 1130 this morning at her son’s home in Indianapolis. A telegram to Frank J Voss & Son announced the death. The remains will be brought to this city for burial and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Frank I. Weller, who began as a cub reporter here, has been promoted to manage the Columbus Ohio bureau of the International News Service. He previously headed the Springfield Illinois bureau after starting in Indianapolis. INS officials say Weller is a valuable member of the staff.
