Boys State Seminar Set for Seymour Post
About 75 ninth district youths selected for Boys State at Indiana State University Terre Haute June 9 to 16 will attend a seminar at Seymour Post No 89 American Legion. Parent attendance is invited. as many as 125 district residents may join. James T. McCoy of Seymour, 1957 Boys Stater, will direct the seminar with staff assistance.

Burglars Hit Area Homes Over Holiday Weekend
State police investigated a wave of burglaries around Seymour over the holiday weekend. At least five homes were broken into and many items stolen including jewelry, firearms, a guitar, clocks, and household goods. Police note burglars may have used a raft to reach a White River cabin before the thefts.

Agent Tells Of Crash Near Grand Cay Bahamas
Former Brownstown man Rochner aboard a Presidential helicopter that crashed off Grand Cay in the Bahamas killing Secret Service agent J. Clifford Dietrich. Six agents and two pilots escaped, with Dietrich drowning after the craft sank in the Atlantic.

Minor holiday weekend crashes in Jackson County no fatalities
Police investigated several crashes over the holiday weekend with no serious injuries in Jackson County. Incidents included a two vehicle collision on Ind 258 near Acme injuring small property, a hit and run on I 65 north of Seymour, a one car off road on Ind 135 near the Jackson-Washington line, a head on on 16th street, and a single vehicle crash on County Road 550 East. Damages ranged from 175 to 675 dollars.

Fugitive Isenhower Captured Abroad After Jail Escape
Crothersville man Gary Isenhower, 27, was taken into custody in Ontario Canada after escaping Bartholomew County jail on May 7. Rex Oren, 24, of Columbus, was arrested in Greeley Colorado. Extradition is considered while out of state authorities also charge the pair. They are suspected in a Columbus car theft and believed to have driven to Terre Haute.

Somber Memorial Day ceremonies marked the national observance as U S troops remained out of Vietnam. In Jackson County, American Legion Post 89 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 held a morning service at Riverview Cemetery with Frank D. Hamilton of Greensburg as speaker.
